In 1902 Mr. Faunce was married to Miss Emily Davies, a daughter of David and Margaret (Hughes) Davies, natives of Wales, who emigrated to the United States in 1880 and settled at Harrisburg, Pa. Mr. Davies died in 1915 and his wife died in 1924. To Mr. and Mrs. Faunce three sons were born. Benjamin F., Jr., born in 1903, was graduated from Staunton Military Academy in 1921, attended Pennsylvania State College, is connected with the Fayro Machine & Engineering Company as foreman. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and Delta Upsilon fraternity. David D. was born in 1905, is a graduate of Westmont High School, and attended Pennsylvania State College, is identified with the Bethlehem Steel Company at Johnstown. John H. was born in 1911 and is a student in Westmont High School.
Mr. Faunce is a Republican, a member of the Methodist Church. He is a thirty-second degree Mason, being affiliated with Beta Lodge No. 647, Wilkinsburg, Pa.; Portage Chapter No. 195, Johnstown; Oriental Commandery No. 61, Johnstown, and the Shrine, Jaffa, Altoona, Pa.
W. H. Paul, secretary and treasurer of the Paul Plumbing and Heating Company, is a progressive business man of Johnstown. He was born at Summerhill, Cambria County, June 4, 1870, and is a son of Elias and Maria (Pringle) Paul.
Elias Paul, deceased, was a native of Cambria County and a veteran of the Civil war. He was born in Jackson Township, Aug. 8, 1834, the son of Samuel and Susan (Eiler) Paul. Elias Paul was born on a farm and began life as a teacher in the district schools of Cambria County. He later entered the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad as passenger and freight agent at Summerhill. In 1878 he removed to Johnstown, where he conducted a general mercantile business for two years. He then became associated with the Cambria Steel Company, in whose employ he remained continuously until 1908, when he retired and removed to Altoona, Pa. He died Aug. 2, 1917. In February, 1869, Mr. Paul married Maria Pringle, the daughter of Samuel Pringle, of Summerhill, Pa. She died in 1903 and with her husband is buried in Grand View Cemetery, Johnstown.
