698 HISTORY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY

    On June 1, 1896, Mr. McDermott was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Doyle, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Flannigan) Doyle, who came to this country from Padium, Lancashire, England, in 1887, and settled at Phillipsburg, Pa. He was a stationary engineer. Both Mr. and Mrs. Doyle are deceased. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. McDermott: (1) Catherine, married William P. Patterson, mining engineer, lives at Nanty Glo, and they have three children, William P. Jr., Martin, and Mary Constance; (2) Nora, married Andrew Malloy, lives at Nanty Glo, and they have a son, Doyle; (3) Anna, married Robert McDermit, lives at Detroit, Mich., where he is connected with the Studebaker Corporation; (4) Genevieve, lives with her sister at Detroit; and (5) Frank, a student.
    Mr. McDermott has always been a Republican, has served as a member of the City Council for six years, and was re-elected in 1925. He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. McDermott ha an extensive acquaintance throughout Cambria County.



    Dr. L. T. Little is a successful and well known dentist of Nanty Glo and a veteran of the World war. He was born in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, Sept. 10, 1883, and is a son of W. A. B. and Susan C. (Storm) Little.
    W. A. B. Little was born at Hopewell, Bedford County, Pa., June 18, 1842, a son of P. J. Little, a resident of Bedford County, who removed to Cambria County in 1850. The family is of German ancestry. W. A. B. Little received his early education in the public schools of Loretto and is a graduate of St. Francis College. He began life as a school teacher and in 1856 engaged in general farming on land which is now part of the Charles Schwab estate. In 1891 he established a general mercantile business at Loretto, which he successfully conducted for 30 years. The business is now owned by his son, Louis M. Little. Mr. Little served as justice of the peace in Allegheny Township for more that 20 years and is a member of the council of Loretto. He is a Democrat and a member of the Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He lives retired at Ebensburg. His wife was born at Loretto, Oct. 12, 1846, and died Oct. 22, 1920. She was the daughter of Louis Storm, who emigrated to this country from Germany and settled in Cambria County. To Mr. and Mrs. Little were born 14 children, as follows: P.
