    W. J. Price, proprietor of the Lake Hotel at South Fork, is a leading business man of Cambria County. He was born in Juniata County, Pa., Sept. 25, 1884, and is the son of Edward and Emma (Joll) Price.
    Edward Price, deceased, was born in Wales, and his wife is a native of England. They emigrated to this country at an early date and settled in Pennsylvania. In 1900 the Price family removed to South Fork, where Edward Price died in May, 1912, and his wife died March 25, 1926. They are buried in South Fork Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Price had three sons: John, F. T., and W. J., the subject of this sketch.
    W. J. Price spent his boyhood in Juniata County and attended the district school. After coming to South Fork he was associated in business with his brother for several years, F. T. Price, ice cream manufacturer. He then engaged in the painting business at South Fork, and later spent two years in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon his return to South Fork Mr. Price conducted a bakery business for a short time. He then established Price's Store, South Fork's leading confectionery, which he still conducts. In 1923, he purchased the Lake Hotel, which he has since successfully managed.
    Mr. Price is a Democrat, a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Masonic, Elks and Eagle lodges.




    W. C. Stricker, cashier of the First National Bank of South Fork, is esteemed throughout the community as a prominent and successful man. He was born at Belleville, Jan. 21, 1895, and is the son of J. A. and Mary J. (Matteer) Stricker.
    J. A. Stricker, deceased, was a native of Switzerland. When 18 years of age he came to this country and settled on a farm near Belleville, Pa.; where he spent the remainder of his life. His widow was born at Belleville, where she resides.
    W. C. Stricker received his education in the public schools and was graduated from Belleville High School in 1914. He at once entered the Belleville National Bank, where he remained until 1918, at which time he was appointed assistant cashier of the First National Bank of South Fork. He was elected cashier in 1924.
    On Oct. 5, 1914, Mr. Stricker was united in marriage with Miss Mary H. Stroup of Belleville. They have had three children: Gladys and William; and Robert, who died at the age of 18 months.
