1903, when he organized his present business. He has a well equipped funeral home and is recognized as one of the leading undertakers in this section of the state.
    On July 21, 1903, Mr. Dimond was married to Miss Laura Wicks, the daughter of Joseph Wicks, Jr. They are the parents of the following children: Marjorie, a teacher in the South Fork Schools; Harold, associated in business with his father; Donald, Charles O., Jr., Leroy, Clare, Jennie, Laura May, and Mary Elizabeth.
    Mr. Dimond has always been a Democrat and has served as a member of the council. He holds membership in St. James Catholic Church.




    Alex Hofecker, general contractor, is a representative and successful business man of Johnstown. He was born in this city, Jan. 27, 1884, and is the son of Frederick and Margaret (Killin) Hofecker.
    Frederick Hofecker was born near Elton, Adams County, Pa., in December, 1860. He has worked at the carpenter trade about all his life and is now working for his son. His wife was born in Cambria County, Pa., and she and her husband reside in Johnstown, Pa.
    Alex Hofecker spent his boyhood in Johnstown and attended the public schools. He learned the carpenter trade at an early age and for eight years was employed by David Ott & Company and spent three years with W. J. Rose & Son. From 1913 until 1920 he was associated in the general contracting business with H. Bolden, and since that time has engaged in business for himself. Mr. Hofecker does general building and contracting and employs about 20 men. Among some of the buildings erected by him are: Moxham Investment Company, Slick Apartments, and Ziff Store Apartment Building. He has built some of the finest residences in Johnstown, including the homes of John D. Walker, George Swank, Mrs. E. M. Cosgrove, Mr. E. T. Glock, Saul Glosser, O. H. Fogelsanger and A. C. Stiver Block, consisting of four buildings.
    On Oct. 12, 1912, Mr. Hofecker was married to Miss Regina Griffith, the daughter of Reuben and Sophia (Glitsch) Griffith, of Johnstown.
    Mr. Hofecker is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Knights of Pythias, and the Sunnehanna Country Club. The family residence is at 814 Fronheiser Street, Johnstown.
