connected with the Elton Lumber and Supply Company since its organization in March, 1925.
    On Oct. 19, 1904, Mr. Fleck was united in marriage with Miss Mabel Burkey, the daughter of David and Amanda (Hildebrand) Burkey, of South Fork. Mr. Burkey has been in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad as a conductor for many years. To Mr. And Mrs. Fleck three children were born: Geraldine, a teacher in the schools of South fork; Mary and Stanton, both at home.
    Mr. Fleck is a Republican, and during his residence in Wilmore served as a member of the City Council. He holds membership in the Evangelical Church of South Fork and the Knights of Pythias.
    The Elton Lumber and Supply Company is capitalized at $25,000. The officers are Charles Leumitry, president; Charles Stroup, vice president; James Ayres, treasurer; and Richard fleck, secretary and general manager. They are among the leading lumber dealers of this section and also handle builders' supplies and do general construction work. The company operates its own saw mill and stone crusher and specializes in the making of cement blocks.




    W. C. Horner who is successfully engaged in business at Elton, is a member of a well-known pioneer family of Cambria County. He was born in Adams Township, near Elton, and is the son of Samuel S. and Sarah A. (Donmyer) Horner.
    Samuel S. Horner, deceased, was born in Adams Township, where he spent his entire life as a farmer and stockman. He died in 1917. His widow, also a native of this township, is a membe4r of a family that settled in Cambria County during the early days. To Mr. and Mrs. Horner the following children were born: Marietta, married William E. Shank, lives at Midland, pa.; James A.; Anna R., married J. P. Gohn, lives at Johnstown; Emma, lives at Johnstown; W. C.; John H.; Catherine, married H. M. Donmyer, lives at South Fork, R. D. No. 1; Samuel T.; Sadie, deceased; and Daisy, married Frank M. Mack, lives at Elderton, Pa.
    W. C. Horner received his education in the schools of Elton and attended normal school. He taught school for 21 terms in Adams Township, after which he engaged in farming on the home place. He then took over the management of his present business, which was organized as a stock company in 1905. Mr. Horner was one of the stockholders at
