Mr. Nees is a Democrat, a member of the Catholic Church, and is affiliated with the Knights of Columbus, third degree, and Loyal Order of Moose. He is well and favorably known in the community where he has spent practically his entire life. G. C. Faust, druggist of Scalp Level, is a leading and well liked citizen of Cambria County. He was born at this place, July 29, 1889, and is the son of C. A. and Carrie (Conrad) Faust. C. A. Faust, who lives retired at Scalp Level, is a native of that place, and has always lives there. For many years he was successfully engaged in the mercantile business. After completing his early schooling at Scalp Level, G. C. Faust studied pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh and received his degree with the class of 1911. He then returned to Scalp Level, where he has since been owner and manager of the Rexall Store. He carries a high-grade line of drugs and sundries and is a widely known prescription specialist. In 1914 Mr. Faust was united in marriage with Miss Mary Washington. Two sons have been born, Earl and George. Mr. Faust is a Republican, a member of the Evangelical Church, and Masonic Lodge, Johnstown. He is president of the Spruce Run Coal Company, of Windber, Pa., and vice president of the Glasgow Coal Company, of Glasgow, Pa. Dr. Alfred W. Brinham, physician and surgeon, who has successfully engaged in the practice of his profession at Scalp Level for more than 20 years, is a native of Pennsylvania. He was born in Somerset County, Oct. 20, 1880, and is the son of M. F. and Milanda (Wilmoth) Brinham. M. F. Brinham, deceased, was born at Wellersburg, Pa. For many years he engaged in the general mercantile business at Glencoe, Pa. He is now deceased. His widow resides at Windber. Mr. and Mrs. Brinham had three children: Alfred W., the subject of this sketch; Filmore, and Randolph. Dr. Alfred W. Brinham attended the public schools of Somerset County and was graduated from Cumberland (Md.) High School. He received his degree as Doctor of Medicine from the College of Physicians |
