    Domenick Gelotte, justice of the peace, is a substantial citizen of Nanty Glo. He was born in Calabria, Cosenza, Italy, San Donato Ninea, March 1, 1884, and is a son of Anthoyn and Mary Innocence (Bellizzi) Gelotte.
    Both Anthony Gelotte and his wife were born in Italy. He was a farmer and land owner and in 1891 emigrated to this country and settled in Clearfield County, Pa. In 1904 he returned to his native land, where he died Oct. 22, 1924. He widow resides at San Donato Ninea, Italy. To Mr. and Mrs. Gelotte six children were born: Domenick, the subject of this sketch; Mary, married Joseph Camblo, lives in New York; Rose, deceased; Carmelia, Patsy, Angelina and Vincent, who live in Italy.
    Domenick Gelotte received his education in his native land and in 1902 came to this country. He entered the employ of the New York Central Railroad at Clearfield, Pa., and in 1905 removed to Nanty Glo, where he managed a store. He was later connected with Barker Brothers Coal Company and worked in the mines until 1908. Mr. Gelotte was active in the organization of the United Mine Workers of America, and served as chairman of the bank committee of this union. He was later appointed a national organizer and served in this capacity until 1911, when he resigned on account of ill health. In 1916 he became active in the organization of this work and in 1920 took an active part in labor movements in the vicinity of Nanty Glo. In 1925 Mr. Gelotte was elected justice of the peace for a period of six years. He is a director of the Miners and merchants Bank, Nanty Glo.
    In 1922 Mr. Gelotte was married to Miss Esther E. Lyttle, the daughter of Joseph and Addie Lyttle, natives of Clearfield County, Pa.
    Mr. Gelotte is active in the Grange of Cambria County.




    A. C. Wissinger is a progressive business man of Nanty Glo, where he is connected with the Nanty Glo Tinning Company. He was born in Johnstown, March 17, 1875, and is a son of Nathaniel and Sarah C. (Laveley) Wissinger.
    Nathaniel Wissinger, who lives retired in Johnstown, is a native of Cambria County. He began life as a miner and later entered the employ of the Cambria Steel Company, and before his retirement was identified with the DeFrehn Chair Company. He is a Republican, has served as school director of Stony Creek Township, and is a member of the First
