HISTORY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY 845

Mary E. Stanard and their family consisted of the following children: John; Daniel S., a sketch of whom appears elsewhere; James; Mattie, single, deceased; Jane, wife of William Long; Isabella, wife of James Kelley; and Hannah single, deceased. The father of this family, Michael McAnulty, died at the age of 73 age.
    Daniel S., son of Michael and Mary (Stanard) McAnulty, was born June 7, 1819, in Indiana, and in April, 1865, moved to Cambria County, making his home where the borough of Barnesboro now stands, on a tract of land which comprised 420 acres. On this land, which he owned, he devoted himself to farming during the remainder of his life, and was also engaged in the lumber business. He belonged to the Junior Order of United American Meship Offices. For many years he served as deacon in the Church of God. He married July, 1843. Eliza J. McDowell, and the following children were born to them: Michael, a lumberman of Barnesboro; John and Nancy, deceased; Mary, married A. A. Grumbling; Henry, of Indiana County; Sarah, wife of T. E. Jones of Bar Township. The death of Daniel S. McAnulty occurred Aug. 4, 1897.
    Frank McAnulty, son of Daniel S. and Eliza J. (McDonwell) McAnulty, received his education in the common schools and in early life was a farmer and lumberman. In 1894 he established a livery business in Barnesboro, which he conducted for four years, and then for another four years was in the mercantile business. In 1900 he helped to organize the firm of Westover & McAnulty, who conducted a mercantile and lumber business until Nov. 1, 1905, when the firm was reorganized under the name of the M.C. Westover Lumber Company, and as such conducted on of the largest lumber businesses in northern Cambria County, and was also extensively engaged in contracting and building. Mr. McAnulty was one of the organizers of the Building and Loan Association of Barnesboro. He was a member of the heptasophs Royal Areanum, Knights of Pythias, and Lodge No. 175, B. P. Order of Elks, of Johnstown. In politics he was a Republican. Mr. McAnulty married Orie, a daughter of Issac and Sarah (Myers) of Susuqehanna Township, and they were the parents of the following children: Thomas, died at the age of one year; N. B. the subject of this sketch; Bertha, died at the age of 21 years; Beulah, married L. A. Bosserman, lives in Barnesboro, where Mr. Bosserman is postemaster; Esther, married R. H. Steil, engaged in the automobile business in Barnesboro; and Robert, a student at Bucknell University. Frank McAnulty died in August, 1923, and is buried in Barnesboro Cemetery. His widow
