deceased. To William H. and Nora May (Wolfe) Troxell two children were born: Witmer Dean, was graduated from Ebensburg High School in 1926; and Mary Pauline, a graduate of Indiana Normal School and Dickinson College. She was married to Howard Fleming, lives at Ebensberg, and they have a son, Howard, Jr.
    Mr. Troxell is a Republican and for 25 years has served as a member of the school board in Barr and Cambria townships. He as been an elder in the Presbyterian Church for 20 years and is affiliated with Patton Lodge, F. & A. M., No. 658, Williamsport, Consistory 32nd degree, Jaffa Temple and Shrine Club, Altoona, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Ebensburg. The Troxell residence is in Ebensburg.




    Dr. A. W. Beatty, of Colver, ranks among the leading and successful physicians and surgeons of Cambria County. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 4, 1876, and is the son of Hon. Charles E. and Margaret (Kelly) Beatty.
    Hon. Charles E. Beatty, deceased, served as judge of the Orphan's Court of Cecil County, Md., for a number of years. On Oct. 7, 1875, Charles E. Beatty married Mess Margaret Kelly of St. Louis, Mo. She died in 1892, and he died in 1906. They are buried at North East, Md. To Mr. and Mrs. Beatty were born five children: Dr. A. W., the subject of this sketch; Drew, lives in Washington, D. C., where he is superintendent of safety and sanitation for the Southern Railway Company; Anna, lives in Los Angeles, Cal.; Laura, married Thomas Law, a retired banker, lives in Los Angeles, Cal.; and Margaret, the widow of Clarence Bennett, lives at Washington, D. C.
    A. W. Beatty received his early education in the public schools of North East, Md., and after his graduation from high school on 1892 entered the employ of a Philadelphia drug firm as a clerk. In 1900 he was graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and in 1906 received his degree as Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College. He served as resident physician at the Jefferson Hospital for one year and for six months was resident physician of the Municipal Hospital at Philadelphia. He then engaged in the practice of his profession in Philadelphia until 1911, when he established his practice in his present location. He is superintendent of the Colver Hospital.
