J.S. Wilmot and E.A. Clark, both of whom are also deceased. He was the active head of this business at the time of his death in 1920.
    For 40 years Mr. Gould was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He joined the church in Ohio, but transferred his membership to Somerset about 1886. He joined the Franklin Street Church, this city, during the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. James Mechem and was closely identified with the work of the church during his residence here. He was for some time a member of the board of stewards and served as a member of the church's financial committee. He was one of the most faithful attendants of the Vincent Bible Class and served as a member of the reception committee for a long time. He was at one time the treasurer of the class.




    Charles Neal Gould is a veteran of the World war and a leading young business man of Johnstown, where he is president of the Keystone Butter Company. He was born at Somerset, Pa., May 19, 1893, and is the son of Charles W. and Anna (Brant) Gould.
    C. N. Gould received his education in the public and high schools of Johnstown and was graduated from Eastman College. On June 2, 1917, he volunteered for service in the World war and was sent to Camp Crane, Allentown, Pa., with Section No. 521, United States Army Ambulance Service. Mr. Gould saw active service in Italy and France and was also with the Army of Occupation in Germany. Upon his return to Johnstown Mr. Gould became identified with the Keystone Butter Company, of which he has served as president since the death of his father in 1920. The other officers of the company are: J. W. Gould, secretary and treasurer; and D. B. Gould, vice president. They are wholesale dealers, only, in butter, eggs and cheese, and conduct one of the most extensive businesses of its kind in the state.
    On June 2, 1922, Mr. Gould was united in marriage with Miss Emily B. Whetstone, the daughter of E. C. and Ida Whetstone, of Johnstown. They have two children, Emily Jane, born April 8, 1923, and Charles William, born April 26, 1926.
    Mr. Gould is an independent voter. He is a member of the First United Brethren Church and is a representative citizen of the community. He is a member of Johnstown Lodge No. 578, F. and A. M.; Williamsport Consistory and Jaffe Temple at Altoona, Pa., and also a member of the American Legion Post No. 294.
