and served as an interne in the Harrisburg (Pa.) General Hospital for one year, after which he located at Beaverdale. Doctor Difenderfer has also attended Harvard Medical College and taken post graduate work in the New York Post Graduate School. Besides his extensive private practice, he is a physician and surgeon for the following well known companies: Beaver Run Coal Company, Boucher-Cortright Coal Company, and Lloydell Fuel Company.
    On Sept. 20, 1912, Doctor Difenderfer was united in marriage with Miss Millie Shiffer, the daughter of William and Clementine (Krouse) Shiffer, residents of Ebensburg, Pa., where Mr. Shiffer is a prominent coal operator. Doctor and Mrs. Difenderfer have two children, William Shiffer and Sarah Ann.
    Doctor Difenderfer is identified with the Cambria County Medical Society, Pennsylvania State medical Society, American medical Association, an alumni of University of Pennsylvania and Bucknell University. He is a Republican and holds membership in the Phi Chi fraternity, Masonic Lodge, Pennsylvania Society of New York, Knights of Pythias, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Loyal Order of Moose, Greystone Hunt Club, and Sunnehanna Country Club, Johnstown. Doctor Difenderfer is one of Cambria County's broad minded and public spirited citizens.




    Chalmer H. Holsinger, Doctor of Optometry, with offices in the Randabusch Block, is a native of Johnstown. He was born April 14, 1897, and is a son of Joseph B. and Emma (Cease) Holsinger.
    Joseph B. Holsinger and his wife have been residents of Johnstown for many years, where Mr. Holsinger is engaged in the jewelry business.
    Chalmer H. Hosinger was educated in the public schools of Johnstown and Temple University. He took up the study of optometry at Pennsylvania State College of Optometry at Philadelphia, from which he received his degree in 1924. He then returned to Johnstown and opened his present offices, where he already has a well established practice.
    On Sept. 19, 1917, Doctor Holsinger enlisted for service in the World War, at Gettysburg, Pa., and was assigned to Company M, 18th Infantry, First Division. He was severely wounded during the Chateau Thierry engagement, near Soissons, in July 1918, and was sent to base hospital
