EBENSBURG, PA 1894 FRI 12 OCT 1894 Lawrence Schroth, proprietor of the St. Lawrence Hotel in Carrolltown, died at his home in that place on Wednesday morning at half past 4 o'clock from appoplexy, aged 69 years. The deceased was born in Baden, Germany, and came to this country with his parents, who were among the early settlers of Carrolltown. Forty-two years ago the deceased opened up the St. Lawrence Hotel in that place and made it one of the most popular stopping places for the traveling public in the county. It was his pride to keep a good house and his guests always went away pleased with their treatment at the St. Lawrence. He is survived by a widow and nine children, namely: John, of Roanoke, Va.; Frank and William, of Newark, N.J.; Edward, of Pittsburg, and Martin, Minnie, Amelia, Rose and Addie at home. His funeral will take place at St. Benedict's cemetery at Carrolltown on Friday morning at 10 o'clock.
