following children: Vivian, Marion, Mona, John, Glen and Inez; and Theodore C., married Miss Marian Robinson of Boston, Mass., lives at Portage. He is a World war veteran. H. Stanley Pringle, assistant treasurer of the United States Savings and Trust Company, of Conemaugh, is among the leading and successful young business men of Johnstown. He was born in East Conemaugh, Dec. 23, 1893, and is the son of E. E. and Ella (Byers) Pringle. E. E. Pringle is a highly esteemed citizen of Johnstown and Cambria County. He was born at Wilmore, in Cambria County, and spent his boyhood on a farm. At an early age he came to East Conemaugh and went to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a fireman. He was later promoted to engineer and is now employed in the East Conemaugh yards as locomotive engineer. Mr. Pringle was also president of the Conemaugh Deposit Bank for several years and is now a director of the United States Savings and Trust Company. He is a Republican, a member of the United Brethren Church, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and is affiliated with Cambria F. and A. M. Lodge No. 278, Royal Arch Chapter No. 195, Oriental Commandery K. T. No. 61, Jaffa Temple and Shrine Club of Altoona. Mrs. E. E. Pringle was born in Franklin Boro, March 26, 1872, and was married Oct. 15, 1891. She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Byers. Samuel Byers was born in Jackson Township, Cambria County, in 1944, and died in 1926. He began railroading in 1869 and was later promoted to conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad, which position he held until he retired Sept. 10, 1910. He served about two months with the Pennsylvania emergency troops during the Civil war. Mr. Byers married in 1869. His wife was born at Morrellville, Pa., Oct. 19, 1850, and now resides with E. E. Pringle. Ten children were born to Samuel Byers and wife. To Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Pringle were born six children, as follows: Milva, deceased; H. Stanley, the subject of this sketch; Telford A., lives in East Conemaugh; Edna, married George Golden, lives at Moxham, Pa.; Harry A., lives in Detroit, Mich.; and Jessie, a student. |
