690 HISTORY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY

    After completing his early schooling in the schools of East Conemaugh, H. Stanley Pringle attended Cambria Business College. He began his business career as a clerk with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, and later entered the Conemaugh Deposit Bank as a clerk. He was appointed assistant cashier after some time and in 1921 was elected cashier. This bank was later consolidated with the United States Trust Company and is now known as the United States Savings and Trust Company, of which Mr. Pringle is assistant treasurer and holds a most responsible position, which he ably fills.
    Mr. Pringle was married in 1916 to Miss Margaret L. Gore, the daughter of George G. and Elizabeth (Champneau) [sic - Champeno] Gore. Mr. Gore lived retired before his death in 1925. His wife died in 1924 and they are buried in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. To Mr. and Mrs. Pringle have been born five children: Edgar Donald, born in July, 1917; Betty June, born Aug. 27, 1919; Milva Jessie and Margaret Edna, twins; and H. Stanley, Jr., born April 8, 1924.
    In politics Mr. Pringle is identified with the Republican party. He is a member of the United Brethren Church, Cambria F. and A. M. Lodge No. 278, Royal Arch Chapter No. 195, Oriental Commandery K. T. No. 61, Valley of Pittsburgh Consistory, thirty-second degree, and Jaffa Temple and Shrine Club, Altoona; the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, at Ebensburg, Pa.; Shrine Club of Johnstown, and the Gevent Male Chorus.




    Mr. Francis Schramm, who ranks among the most successful physicians and surgeons of Johnstown, as a veteran of the World war. He was born in Philadelphia, Sept. 28, 1883, and is the son of C. Frederick and Julia (Stutzman) Schramm.
    C. Frederick Schramm is a native of Bucks County, Pa. He has been identified with the Cambria Iron Company for 45 years and is foreman of the pattern department. His father was also employed by this company for a great number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Schramm had two children; George F., died at the age of four years; and Francis, the subject of this sketch.
    Dr. Francis Schramm received his early education in the public schools of Johnstown, from which he was graduated in 1904. In 1909 he received his degree as Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College, and the
