bocker Fuel Company. He removed to Nanty Glo in March, 1924, and has since served as general manager and treasurer of the Nanty Glo Auto Company. The officers of the company are: K. G. Potts, president; Clarence Lauer, secretary; and Mr. Berkebile, general manager and treasurer. They are local agents for the Studebaker and Star automobiles. The company carries a complete line of automobile accessories, tires and replacement parts and has a well established business. A. A. Dietrich is an enterprising merchant of Nanty Glo, where he is successfully engaged in the hardware business. He was born at St. Lawrence, Cambria County, Dec. 2, 1882, and is a son of Anthony and Catherine (Baker) Dietrich. Anthony Dietrich was born at Hollidaysburg, Pa., a son of Jacob Dietrich. When a young man he worked on the old canal between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. He later engaged in farming and stock raising on the Dietrich homestead, which was known as Kill Buck Farm. He removed to Patton in 1901, where he lived retired until his death in 1920. His wife, a native of Cambria County, died July 4, 1919, and with her husband is buried in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Mr. Dietrich was a Democrat and a member of the Catholic Church. There were eight children in the Dietrich family, as follows: Charles and Simon, both deceased; H. J., lives at Altoona, Pa.; A. M., lives at St. Lawrence, Pa.; Anthony, deceased; Agnes, married M. A. Smith, lives at Altoona, Pa.; Pius, lives in Chicago; and A. A., the subject of this sketch. A. A. Dietrich attended the public schools of St. Lawrence and remained on his father's farm until 1901, when he went to Patton. He was employed by the Kirk Hardware Company at that place until August, |
