    Mr. Lantzy is a Democrat, a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (fourth degree), Elks Lodge, Chamber of Commerce, and also a member of the United Commercial Travelers No. 303, Johnstown, Pa. He is a director of the Keystone Bank and was one of its organizers. Mr. Lantzy ranks as one of the dependable citizens of the community.




    E. J. Lehmier is a progressive business man of Spangler, where he is successfully engaged in the hardware business. He was born in Barr Township, Cambria County, Sept. 27, 1886, and is a son of Joseph and Mary (Fresh) Lehmier.
    Joseph Lehmier, retired, was born at Carrolltown, Pa., in October, 1854. For a number of years he engaged in farming in Barr Township, and in 1905 removed to Spangler, where he organized the Joseph Lehmier Hardware Company. He became one of the leading merchants of the city and was actively engaged in business until 1911. He is a Democrat, and has served as a member of the school board. He holds membership in the Catholic Church. His wife died in 1900 and is buried at Nicktown, Pa. To Mr. and Mrs. Lehmier the following children were born: Emma, married N. V. Pfiester, a farmer, lives in Barr Township; Harriet, lives in Ohio; Frank J., lives at Spangler; Clara, at home; E. J., the subject of this sketch; Bertha, married Luke Dunlap, lives at Carrolltown; A. J., a World war veteran, engaged in farming in Barr Township; Helen, married Otto Kline, lives at Spangler; Salome, the widow of Joseph Fritz, lives at Spangler; Lucy, and Anna, both deceased.
    After completing his schooling in Barr Township, E. J. Lehmier engaged in farming with his father, and later became interested in the hardware business with him. Since his father's retirement in 1911 he has conducted the business alone.
    Mr. Lehmier was married first in 1908 to Miss Mary Parrish, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Parrish. She died in 1919 and is buried in Nicktown. To this union four children were born: Robert J.; Mary Inez, and E. J., Jr., both deceased; and Mary, at home. In 1921 Mr. Lehmier married Miss Myrtle Kirkpatrick, the daughter of Edward and Emma
