    Mr. Edwards is a Republican and holds membership in the First Presbyterian Church.




    Oswald E. Wilkinson is one of the oldest and most highly esteemed business men of Ebensburg, where he is proprietor of the J. Wilkinson & Son. He was born in Loretto, Pa., Sept. 8, 1865, the son of Jomes [sic] and Agnes Wilkinson.
    James Wilkinson was brought to this country from Ireland by his parents when he was a small child. They settled at Dauphin, Pa., where he was reared. He became an apprentice to Michael Casey to learn the stone cutting trade in 1851, and received a salary of $30.00 per year, which was paid in two installments every six months. In 1881 Mr. Wilkinson removed to Ebensburg and established the business, which is now conducted by his son, and which is still known as J. Wilkinson & Son. Mr. Wilkinson died at Ebensburg, Sept. 30, 1897, and his wife died at Loretto, Pa., Oct. 8, 1865.
    Oswald E. Wilkinson spent his boyhood at Loretto and attended the schools there and St. Francis College. When his family located in Ebensburg he learned the stone cutter's trade with his father, and he has remained in this line of work continuously since that time.
    Mr. Wilkinson was married to Miss Annie Blair, of Ebensburg, and to them were born seven children, as follows: Agnes J., Emil O., James A., Charles E., Richard P., Blair F., and Katherine.
    Mr. Wilkinson and his family hold membership in the Catholic Church, and he is affiliated with the Knights of Columbus, of which he was one of the founders at Ebensburg. He has always been a man of excellent character, industrious, and competent.




    Dr. Fred H. McClain, a prominent and successful dentist of Ebensburg, is a native of Pennsylvania. He was born at New Granada, Dec. 10, 1897, and is the son of Dr. Charles Arthur Roe and Alice Meta (Hunter) McClain.
    Dr. Charles Arthur Roe McClain was born at New Granada, Pa., and is engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery at Mt. Union, Pa. Doctor and Mrs. McClain have five children, as follows: Dr. Robert Daniel, lives in Pittsburgh; Ethel Maud, Gertrude Serena, and Charles Bernard, all residents of Mt. Union; and Dr. Fred H., the subject of this sketch.
