Kephart, of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court; and is now court stenographer and law librarian of Cambria County, as well as business manager of Cambria Freeman, Ebensburg. Fred J. McFadden, authorized Ford dealer of Ebensburg, is a progressive young business man of Cambria County. He was born in Philadelphia, April 10, 1893, and is the son of Charles and Eleanor (Hayden) McFadden. Charles McFadden, deceased, spent most of his life in Philadelphia and the East. He was a railroad contractor, later practiced law, and at the time of his death, may 12, 1925, he was a well known coal operator of Washington, D. C. His widow, born at Westminster, Md., now resides in Washington, D. C. To Mr. and Mrs. McFadden the following children were born; Charles, lives in Washington, D.C.; W. H., lives in Philadelphia; John U., lives in Ebensburg; Mrs. Cassin Young, lives in Santa Barbara, Cal.; Mrs. Bernard Shanley, lives in Roslyn, L. I.; Roger B., lives in Washington, D. C.; and Fred J., the subject of this sketch. Fred J. McFadden attended the schools of Philadelphia and St. Joseph's College in that City. He was associated in business with his father until October, 1923, when he established his present business. Mr. McFadden has an attractive salesroom and one of the up-to-date garages of the community. On Sept. 25, 1918, Mr. McFadden was united in marriage with Miss Dorothea Reineke, of Philadelphia, the daughter of Henry G. and Mary B. (Judge) Reineke. Mr. Reineke is deceased and his widow lives in Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. McFadden have three sons: Fred J., Henry, and Charles. Politically Mr. McFadden is a Republican. He and his family are members of the Catholic Church. |
