    Mr. Cuppels is a member of the Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He is a Democrat and an excellent citizen of the community in which he lives.

    George J. Ondriezek, mortician, is among the prominent and highly esteemed citizens of Nanty Glo. He was born in Johnstown, March 28, 1882, and is the son of Joseph and Anna (Heisman) Ondriezek.
    Joseph Ondriezek was born in Germany. At an early age he learned the shoemaker's trade and removed to Latrobe and later to Johnstown. He conducted a shoe business in the Seventh Ward of Johnstown until 1893, when he removed to Strongstown, Pa., in Indiana County, where he purchased a farm on 130 acres. Mr. Ondriezek is now successfully engaged in general farming and stock raising. He is a Republican and a member of the Catholic Church. To Mr. and Mrs. Ondriezek seven children were born, as follows: George J., the subject of this sketch; Joseph, a farmer, lives at Strongstown, pa.; Anna, married Harry Ford, lives at Heilwood, pa.; Lydia, married Walter Bennett, lives in Indiana County; Carries, married M. Strong, lives at Strongstown; Gertrude, married M. Stephens, lives in Indiana County; and Daniel, lives at Nanty Glo.
    George J. Ondriezek received his education in the parochial schools of Johnstown and Latrobe. He was then employed in the saw mill of Benton Martin in Indiana County. Later he traveled with Jailette's Minstrel Shows for six years and toured throughout the United States and Canada with this company. He then became associated with A. W. Strong, funeral director Strongsville, and after three years went to Philadelphia, where he attended Eckel's College of Science and Embalming. After passing the Pennsylvania State Board examination, Mr. Ondriezek located at Nanty Glo in 1904, and established his present business. He has a modern and well equipped funeral home and is accounted one of the reliable business men of Cambria County.
    In 1891 Mr. Ondreizek was married to Miss Elizabeth Jailette, the daughter of Arthur Jailette, promoter of the Jailette Minstrel Shows. He is deceased. To Mr. and Mrs. Ondriezek have been born 12 children: Anna and Ethel, both deceased; Oscar, lives at White Station, Pa., served with the U. S. Marine Corps for three years; Gussie, married John Cassic, lives at Nanty Glo; Harold, lives at home, served in the U. S. Coast Artillery
