years in Patton Boro. He then entered the University of Pittsburgh and was graduated with high honors in the class of 1915, and immediately began the practice of his profession in Barnesboro, and has built up well deserved patronage.
    On June 26, 1919, Doctor Overberger was united in marriage with miss Beatrice McAnulty, a member of one of the well known and honored pioneer families of Cambria County. She is a graduate of Westchester College and before her marriage was a teacher in Barnesboro schools for three years. To this union two children have been born: Charles, Jr., born Oct. 12, 1921; and William F., born Nov. 8, 1924.
    Doctor Overberger was one of he volunteers for service in the World War. He was commissioned a first lieutenant and served ten months, being stationed at Camp Sevier and Camp Jackson, in the Dental Corps.
    The Overberger family are members of St. Edward's Catholic Church, in which church, Doctor Overberger is a member of the choir. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus of Barnesboro, The American Legion, and in politics is an independent voter, especially in local politics. Doctor Overberger has always taken an active interest in civic affairs, and has served as school director in Carroll Township and inspector of elections, and various other local offices. He is a progressive and enterprising citizen and one of the public spirited young men of Cambria County.




    Dr. Alfred M. Bergstein, a prominent young physician and surgeon of Cresson, is a veteran of the World War. He was born in Philadelphia, June 6, 1891, and is the son of Samuel and Rachael (Ulm) Bergstein.
    Samuel Berstein was born in Germany and at the age of 14 years emigrated to this country. He was traveling representative of a Los Angels, Cal., merchandise firm for many years and is now retired. His wife is also a native of Germany. To Mr. and Mrs. Bergstein four children were born: Minnie, lives at Buffalo, N.Y.; Milton, lives a Pottsville, Pa.; Jeanette, died in infancy; and Alfred M., the subject of this sketch.
    Dr. Alfred M. Bergstein attended the public schools of Pottsville, Pa., and in 1915 received his degree as Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. He served his internship at the Polyclinic Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., at the Willard Parker Hospital for Contagious Diseases, New York City, and at the Manhatten Maternity, New York City. He also took a post-graduate course in pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania
