He was born at Check Springs, Pa., Aug. 31, 1885, and is the son of Peter c. and Rose Anna Flick. Peter C. Flick, retired, was born at Loretto, Pa., the son of Charles Flick, who came to this country during the early days from Germany and settled at Loretto, where he successfully engaged in general farming. Peter C. Flick was a farmer in early life and later engaged in general contracting. He lived at Spangler, Pa., for many years, but is now a resident of Saint Benedict, Pa. His wife, a native of Germany, is deceased. To Mr. and Mrs. Flick were born nine children, of whom C. C., the subject of this sketch, was the sixth in order of birth. C. C. Flick attended the public schools of Spangler and spent his boyhood on his father's farm. After his family removed to Chest Springs he learned the blacksmith trade, at which he worked continuously until 1923, having removed to Barnesboro in 1908. On Feb. 1, 1923, Mr. flick formed a partnership with Joseph Evans, and they were local dealers for the Studebaker automobile. In July 1925, the partnership was dissolved and Mr. Flick has since conducted the business. He has an up-to-date salesroom and a modern, well equipped garage, in connection with carrying a complete line of automobile accessories. On Sept. 2, 1908, Mr. Flick was married to Miss Stella Aufdenhaus, of Braddock, Pa., the daughter of John and Catherine (Stultz) Aufdenhaus. To them were born five children: Cyrilla, Lucile, Bernadine, Louise, and C. C., Jr. Mrs. Flick died Feb. 5, 1917, and is buried at Carrolltown, Pa. On Sept. 21, 1921, Mr. Flick was married to Miss Winifred Sullivan, of Hastings, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Catherine Sullivan. Mr. Flick is a Republican, a member of the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge. |
