On Sept. 26, 1893, Mr. Waltz was united in marriage with Miss Ida A. Kirkpatrick, a native of Elder Township, Cambria County, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Ann (Campbell) Kirkpatrick, both deceased. To Mr. and Mrs. Waltz eleven children have been born, as follows: Marie, at home; Clare A., Herald B. and Paul E., who live in Pittsburgh, Pa.; Bernardine, a nurse in the Pittsburgh Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.; O. M., Raymond A., Charlotte, Ida A., Ritz, and Matthew J., all at home. Henry J. Easly, funeral director, is among the substantial and well known business men of Hastings, where he has been engaged in business for 30 years. He was born at Carrolltown, Pa., Nov. 9, 1871, the son of J. C. Easly, pioneer attorney of Cambria County, who studied law under Judge Johnson of Ebensburg. He was a native of Johnstown and practiced his profession for about 55 years. He died in 1916. He was the son of George W. Easly, who served as justice of the peace in Johnstown in 1843, and was also associate judge of Cambria County. He died in 1895 at the age of 88 years. J. C. Easly married Josephine M. Scanlon of Loretto, Pa., the daughter of Henry J. and Ellen (Levy) Scanlon, natives of Cambria County. Mr. Scanlon served as justice of the peace and county supervisor for 55 years and died in 1902. His wife is also deceased. Josephine (Scanlon) Easly died in 1910. To Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Easly ten children were born, of whom the following are deceased: Frances, Mary and Joseph. Henry J. Easly received his education in the schools of Carrolltown and when a young man became interested in the furniture business with C. A. Buck, deceased, who conducted stores at Carrolltown, Hastings and Barnesboro. He later studied embalming and in March, 1896, removed to Hastings, where he established his present business. Mr. Easly has one of the finest funeral homes in the county and is widely known. On Jan. 28, 1903, Mr. Easly was married to Miss Agnes R. Koch, of Altoona, the daughter of Ferdinand and Sadie (Hughes) Koch, both deceased.
