1921, and they are buried in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Lilly. Mr. and Mrs. Moyer had nine children, of whom Thomas Joseph, the subject of this sketch, was the second in order of birth. A daughter, Anna, died in 1888 at the age of two years.
Thomas Joseph Moyer spent his boyhood at Lilly and received his education in the public schools. He began his business career in the employ of George & O'Brien, and later was associated with his father in the meat business. He has been successful in his business and has a well established trade.
On June 25, 1895, Mr. Moyer was united in marriage with Miss Stella Short, of Lilly, the daughter of John W. and Mary W. (Murphy) Short. Mr. Short is deceased and his widow lives at Lilly. to Mr. and Mrs. Moyer the following children were born: Verda, married James Campbell, lives at Portage; Bernadette, married W. F. Dougherty, cashier of the First National Bank of Spangler, Pa.; John, lives at Altoona, Pa.; Blonda, lives at home; Emmet, Marion, Ward, Evelyn, Clifford, Jerome, all at home; Barbara deceased; and Thomas N., deceased. Mrs. Moyer died Dec. 23, 1920, and is buried in St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery, Lilly, Pa.
In politics Mr. Moyer is identified with the Democratic party. He and his family hold membership in the Catholic Church. He has served as treasurer and secretary of the local school board for several terms and is well liked in the community.
J. W. Krumenaker is an enterprising young business man of Lilly and a veteran of the World War. He was born in Washington Township, Cambria County, Jan. 13, 1894, and is the son of J. H. and Mary E. (Bender) Krumenaker.
J. H. Krumenaker was born near Lilly in 1863, the son of H. J. Krumenaker, who emigrated to this country from France during the early days and settled on land in Washington Township, Cambria County, where he operated a saw mill. His son later operated the mill and also was extensively engaged in the lumber business at Lilly for 25 years. He is a member of the Catholic Church and has served as supervisor of Washington Township. His wife was born at Lilly and died in 1917, at the age of 48 years. to Mr. and Mrs. Krumenaker the following children were born: John, died in infancy; William, lives in Philadelphia; J. W., the subject of this sketch; Albert, lives at home; Mary, lives at Altoona, Pa.;
