is deceased and his widow resides in Johnstown. Doctor and Mrs. Wolford have two children, Donald Ralph and Jane.
    During the World war Doctor Wolford was commissioned a first lieutenant but was never called into service.
    Doctor Wolford is a member of the Central Pennsylvania Dental Society, the Johnstown Dental Study Club, all Masonic branches from Blue Lodge to Shrine, the W.F. McKinley Society of Oral Surgery, Medico Chirurgical Alumni Society, the T. N. Brownell Society of Medico Chirurgical College and the Psi Omega Fraternity. He is a Republican, a member of the First Lutheran Church, and a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve Corps. Doctor Wolford has met with uniform success in his profession and is highly esteemed.




    Loyal Order of Moose, Johnstown Lodge No. 48, was organized July 31, 1908, with a charter membership of 58, in the Y.M.I. Building, on Main Street. In the month of September they moved to the Bantly Building, later acquired by the Swank Hardware Company. In the fall of 1909 the lodge instituted a membership campaign, which brought their membership to a little over 800.
    The following dictators have served this lodge since its institution: Dr. H. H. Sanderson, M. L. Scanlon, R.M. Patterson, Howard C. Evans, William McGee, Charles A. McKeown, William K. Miller, Hinds Peevey, Dorsey Nail, Harry A. Hamor, Alex M. Miller, Robert T. Hickman, John E. Nail, John O. E. Grafe now being the present dictator. The following secretaries of the lodge since its institution are Robert Keating, who served for one year; William J. Waters, who served for three years; Phil N. Baumer, who served for four years, and George J. Hommel, who is now secretary, now serving his twelfth year.
    Johnstown Lodge of Moose has always been a firm believer in civic progressiveness. Showing their progress, they started out with acquiring a lot, on which they erected a magnificent temple in 1912; and on Jan. 1, 1916, they made the last payment on same. Under the dictatorship of William K. Miller in April, 1916, he appointed the following building committee to have charge of erecting a building on same: Charles A. McKeown, chairman; George J. Hommel, secretary; S. Ross Hammer, treasurer; Worth J. Berkey and William K. Miller. The committee worked hard and diligently and ground was broken for said foundation on May 27, 1916,
