David Sherer is among the most progressive and enterprising young business men of South Fork, where he is engaged in the feed business. He was born at Warsaw, Russia, Aug. 11, 1905, and is the son of Louis and Ethel (Sherer) Sherer. The Sherer family came to this county from Russia in 1914 and settled at South Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sherer had six sons: Louis, Leonard, David, Samuel, Paul and John. David Sherer received his early schooling in Russia and attended South Fork High School and Cambria Business College, Johnstown. He is associated in business with his brother, Leonard Sherer, and they are extensive dealers in flour, feed, grain, etc. They also handle roofing materials and cement. Their grist mill is located at Summerhill. Mr. Sherer is a Republican. Arthur Miller is an enterprising and successful young business man of Sidman. He was born in Adams Township, Cambria County, June 23, 1902, and is the son of Moses and Edith (Troxell) Miller. Moses Miller was born in Adams Township, Cambria County, and his wife is a native of Clearfield County, Pa. They are residents of Sidman, and the parents of the following children: Roy, Henry, Arthur, Harry, Sadie, Dora, Emma, Clarence, Ella Marie, Ralph, Ray, and Virgil, all at home. Arthur Miller received his education in the public schools of Sidman. He was employed by G.H. Miller, general merchant of Sidman, for a period of seven years, and in 1922 engaged in the garage business. Mr. Miller handles automobile accessories and has a well equipped garage, which is known as Miller's Service Station. He also deals in gasoline and oils. Mr. Miller is a Republican and a member of the Lutheran Church. |
