tice in this city until his enlistment in the army during the World war. He was commissioned a first lieutenant in the Medical Corps, May 19, 1917, and served at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Ind., and Camp Devens, Mass., until June, 1918, when he was sent overseas. He was discharged June 16, 1919, with the rank of captain. He has since maintained offices at 406 Main Street.
    On Sept. 28, 1923, Doctor Grove was united in marriage with Miss Lucy A. Mellinger, who was born in Johnstown, Aug, 21, 1895. They have a son William Joseph, born March 20, 1925.
    Doctor Grove is a Republican, a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Johnstown Country Club, and Kiwanis Club. He is identified with the Cambria County, Pennsylvania State and American Medical Association, and takes an active interest in the affairs of the community.




    Paul T. Bearer is a leader among the younger and most progressive business men of Johnstown, where he is vice president of the United States Trust Company of Johnstown. He was born at Ebensburg, Pa., June 21, 1890, and is the son of Michael D. and Jennie R. (Blair) Bearer.
    M. D. Bearer, secretary-treasurer of the Title Trust and Guarantee Company, is among Johnstown's prominent citizens, a complete sketch of whom appears elsewhere in the history. Three sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Bearer: Paul T., the subject of this sketch; Byron E., a veteran of the World war, is identified with the Sterling Commercial Mortgage Company, Johnstown; and Daniel Fremont, identified with the Conemaugh Motor Sales Company, Johnstown.
