The parish of the Assumption of the B. V. M. and Sacred Heart Parish were merged in 2008 and renamed
Sacred Heart to: "Transfiguration" under the pastorate of Rev. Robert C. Hall. Assumption has its
own cemetery. One of the huge stained glass windows was donated by the Joseph F. Rosenbaum Family. They also helped save the church from foreclosure by using their house as collateral to prevent that from happening at one point in the church's history. The cemetery for Sacred Heart Church obtained the ground from John B. Rosenbaum, great grandfather to James Thomas Rosenbaum and Rev. William Rosenbaum. John B. Rosenbaum sold the ground to Right Rev. Bishop Eugene A. Garvey on 04/08/1907. The Deed, Vol. 203, p. 211 relates the transaction and that ground was from Deed Vol. 50, p. 351. The witnesses were John H. Cooney and W. H. (Crum?) on 04/16/1907 by JP W. H. (Crum?). Recorded on 09/16/1907 by Arthur Griffith, Recorder of Deeds. |
