| The St. George's Syrian Orthodox Church cemetery is located on Cemetery Road in Portage Township. Founded in the mid 1920s by a group of devout Christian families, the church is no longer in existence. The cemetery, owned by the church was donated to Sacred Heart Church at no cost in return for perpetual care of the approximately one fourth of the cemetery retained for descendants of the church founders. It is the last of the cemeteries on the right hand side of the road. It is a very small section in front of the Sacred Heart Cemetery. |
