Mrs. William Brown
Margaret, wife of William Brown, of Vintondale, died last Monday of apoplexy. The funeral services were held, at her late residence yesterday morning by the Rev. J. A. James, interment being made in the Ebensburg cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born in County Durham, England, in 1842, and came to this country with her husband and three children in 1897, settling in the coal region of Pennsylvania. Not long after coming to America Mr. Brown met with an accident which totally destroyed his sight, and for years the maintenance of the husband and children devolved upon Mrs. Brown. She met the changed conditions heroically and had reared a family of six children, all of whom survive their faithful and courageous mother. |
