About 1834 Mr. McTamany located in Cambria County and worked on the Old Portage Railroad. He bought a tract of land at Plane No. 4 when the locality was a dense wilderness.

Two of the former survive: Peter, an engineer on the P.R.R. and a member of Altoona Council, and John, who is at home at Lilly's. Three of the daughters are living: Mary, wife of James Reilley, of Gallitzin, and Margaret and Annie, who are single and at home. |
