Robert Pringle, father of Assistant-Agent Samuel Pringle, at the Pennsylvania Railroad Station, died at his residence in New Florence, Westmoreland County, at 2:30 o'clock this morning, in his sixty-first year. The cause of his death was stomach trouble.
Mr. Pringle was born and raised at Summerhill, this county, and was a son of the late Samuel Pringle, a nephew of the venerable William Pringle, who died a short time ago in Summerhill Township.
Mr. Pringle was employed as an engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad for thirty-two years, resigning three years ago.
He was married to Evaline Altemus, of Burshvalley Township, Indiana County, a sister of Mr. M. S. Altemus, of Morrellville, and had lived at New Florence for the past quarter of a century.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Emma, wife of William Gettemy, of Conemaugh; Charles W., of Pittsburg (sic); Robert, of Lorain, O.; Samuel, of Johnstown, and Dollie, wife of Charles Gulland, of Pittsburg. He is also survived by four sisters, viz.; Mrs. Elias Paul, of the Sixth Ward, this city; Mrs. Maggie Michaels and Mrs. Annie Bickford, of Conemaugh, and Mrs. Jane Hess, of Wilmore. Daniel Pringle, only brother of the deceased, was killed in Altoona last year.
The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon. Rev. J. S. Fulton, of the United Brethren Church, of which the deceased had been a member all his life, will conduct the obsequies, after which the remains will be brought to this place and laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery. |
