JONATHAN MAHAN.

On Monday evening, at his home in Paint Township, Somerset County, of consumption, died Mr. Jonathan Mahan, brother of Mr. Archibald Mahan of Johnstown. The funeral took place on Wednesday, at 1 o'clock, in Josiah Custer's burying ground. The deceased went into the war in the first draft, and served a term of nine months in the 171st. Pennsylvania Regiment. He is said to have been ailing ever since he came home,and to have been very unwell for the last ten years. All the surrounding neighborhood was present at the funeral, as the deceased was greatly respected. He was aged 48 years 5 months and 10 days, and leaves a wife and five children in comfortable circumstances. He was a member of the German Reformed Church.
