BRACKEN -- Duane J., 72, Summerhill Township, died July 18, 2000, at home. Born July 13, 1928, in Ebensburg R. D., son of Joshua E. and Elizabeth (Paul) Bracken. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Earl, Donald and Russell Bracken; and sister, Arvilla Dishong. Survived by loving wife of 32 years, Janet (Lee) Bracken, and these children: Lori, wife of Dr. Edward DeVelin, Richland, and Duane A., married to former Marlene Lee, Portage. Also survived by grandchildren, Edmond and Elizabeth DeVilin; and Joshua, Ryan and Marisa Bracken. Duane is also survived by five children from a previous marriage and mother-in-law, Esther Lee, Portage. Brother of Sydney, wife of Edward Lynard, Cape Coral, Fla.; Paul Bracken, and wife, Helen, and Ronald Bracken, and wife, Bonnie, both of Ebensburg; and Thomas Bracken, and wife, Renie, Nanty Glo. Truck driver with 43 years' service and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mark A. Serenko Funeral Home, Portage, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Portage, Father Walter Moll, celebrant. Committal, St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore. |
