Mrs. Christina Shaffer, relict of Frederick Shaffer and sister of the late Henry Plack, died of paralysis at her home in Pueblo, Col., on Thursday of last week, aged about seventy-six years. The deceased was a native of Germany, but came to America a long time ago and settled in Johnstown, where she lived until seventeen years ago, when she went West with her son Edward, who has since passed away. Frederick Shaffer, husband of the deceased, died in Johnstown during the Civil War. At the time Mrs. Shaffer left for Peublo [sic] she and her son resided on Potts place. She is survived by three sons - George, of No. 770 Smith alley, who left Friday with his son Edward to attend the funeral, and Louis and Charles Shaffer, of Pueblo. The funeral probably took place to-day, with interment in Pueblo. Mrs. Shaffer was an active member of Zion's German Lutheran Church while a resident of Johnstown. |
