Shocking Case of Suicide
On the morning of the 10th ult., the wife of Mr. Thomas Wakefield of West Wheatfield township, Indiana county, committed suicide. She first drank a bottle of laudanum, but fearing this would not kill speedily enough, she immediately afterward cut two horrible gashes in her throat with a razor. With persistency unparalleled she then precipitated herself into a well, where her lifeless body was discovered floating on the water. Domestic trouble was the cause of this horrible act. |
