Ebensburg, May 16. -- Mrs. Elizabeth (Davis) Humphreys, aged 77 years, wife of E. J. Humphreys, of Crawford street, this place, one of the oldest and best known residents of ths community, died at her home at 7:45 o'clock this morning. Her death was due to old age
She was born in Cambria Township November 15, 1843, and was a daughter of the late Ebenezer and Mary Davis. The deceased is survived by her husband and the following children: Harry J. Humphreys, of Altoona; Annie, wife of Joseph Pringle, of Conemaugh; Wallace R. Humphreys, of Johnstown; Harriet, wife of Dr. M. W. Miller, of Williamstown, Pa.; M. Eldora, wife of Harve Tibbott, of this place, and David E. Humphreys, of Derry. Three children, Gussie, Katie, and John, preceded their mother to the grave.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the late residence and will be conducted b the Rev. John R. Thomas, pastor of the local Congregational Church of which the deceased was a lifelong member. Burial will take place in Lloyd Cemetery. The body has been prepared for burial by Undertaker Jeff Evans. |
