John Grasberger
Sunday morning at 7 o'clock John Grasberger, a resident of Carrolltown, this county, died at the home of Becthal Erhart in the city of Altoona. Mr. Grasberger had been traveling in the South for the purpose of benefiting his health and while on his way home stopped off in Altoona two weeks ago for a visit to Mr. Erhart where he became very ill and later succumbed.
The deceased was born in Carroll township, Cambria County, on April 15th, 1868, and was a son of Joseph and Theresa Grasberger.
He was married to Miss Helena Hoover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hoover in St. Benedict Church in Carrolltown, October 30th 1900. He is survived by his wife and two children, Elmer and Mary. Also by four sisters and one brother as follows: Sister McMildes of the Order of Sisters of Charity of East Pittsburg; Sister Visitation of the Order of St. Joseph of Chambersburg; Miss Albon Buck of Chest Springs; Mrs. Alfred Donahue of Elistie, Pa., and Stephen of Hastings.
He was a member of St. Benedict Church of Carroll township and of the Lemey Conclave Improved Order of Heptosophs of Carrolltown. The remains were taken to his home at Carrolltown on Monday morning and interment was made after a requiem High Mass in St. Benedict's Church Wednesday morning at Carrolltown. |
