Nicholas Ahlas, aged 78 years, a veteran of the Civil War and one of the best-known residents of this community, died at his residence about 11:30 o’clock Thursday night. His death was due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Ahlas is survived by several children. His wife is deceased. Funeral services will be held from St. Benedict’s Catholic church at 9 o’clock Monday morning. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
