JAMES W. BROWN, 29, WORLD WAR VET, DIES AT HOSPITAL

WAS IN FRANCE WITH THE 305TH ENGINEERS, A.E.F., FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS

FUNERAL ON MONDAY

James Walter Brown, a veteran of the World War, died last night at the Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for several hours. Mr. Brown took sick last Sunday and was a patient at his home, 327 Chandler avenue, Morrellville, until yesterday morning. His death occurred at 11 o'clock last night. He was employed as an electrician at the Cambria coke plant, Rosedale.

The deceased was born in West Taylor Township on January 19, 1894, and was a son of William Brown, of Prosser Hollow, and Mrs. Elizabeth (Adams) Brown, who passed away four years ago. Besides his father, he is survived by a brother and sister, George Brown and Miss Minnie Brown, both of Prosser Hollow. He is also survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth (Eppley) Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Eppley, to whom he was married in the spring of 1917, and two daughters, Mary, aged six years, and Rhoda, aged three years.

The body was prepared for burial by the John Henderson Company and was removed to the home of the deceased this afternoon. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, from the Third Brethren Church, Morrellville, and will be in charge of Maj. Gen. Charles T. Menoher Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars; with burial in Benshoff's Cemetery. The deceased was in the Untied States service for almost two years. He was a wagoner in Company A. Three Hundred and Fifth Engineers, Eightieth Division, and was in France for 18 months. He took part in a number of important engagements, including the Argonne, where he was gassed.
