SIMON P. KLINE
CARROLLTOWN, Jan. 11--Simon P. Kline, a prominent farmer of West Carroll township who had just entered his 81st year, died today at his home about one-half mile from this place. He became ill shortly after his birthday, Jan. 2. His death is attributed to diseases incident to advanced age.
Simon Kline was born in St. Lawrence in 1846 and was a son of Daniel and Matilda Noel Kline. He and Miss Mary Lancey were untied in marriage May 9, 1869. He spent the greater part of his life farming in this vicinity and served for some time as road supervisor. Surviving him are his widow and the following children: Henry E., F.A.A., E.F., and A.D., all of West Carroll township; Mrs. C.P. Rieg and Mrs. Harry Binder, both of Spangler; Mrs. Frank James, Detroit, Mich.; and Mrs. D.A. Buchanan, West Carroll township. Four children preceded him to the grave. Mr. Kline leaves the following brothers: Michael, Susquehanna township; John, Lyrine and Andrew, Allegheny township.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Thursday morning with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Benedict's church, this place. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. |
