Andrew Lees, of Nanty-Glo, Dead. Andrew Lees, a well-known citizen of this place, died at his home last Monday. Death was due to a complication of diseases, with wich he had been suffering for a year, although he was in bed only about two weeks.
Mr. Lees was born in Coatbridge, Scotland, March 12, 1846. He was formerly a mine foreman and later proprietor of the Carrolltown Roads Hotel. About seven months ago he returned from Richmond, Ind., where he had gone for the benefit of his health, which did not improve as he wished. Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children: Alexander, of Deerfield, O.; Robert, of Twin Rocks; Mary, wife of Dr. A. Loino, of Gallitzin; Jean, wife of Frank Richardson, of Deerfield, O.; Christina, wife of Earle Harlin, of Altoona; Charles of Lilly, and William at home.
Mr. Lees was a member of the Odd Fellows for 30 years, and was a charter member of Patton Lodge, No. 1008, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. His body was interred last Wednesday in Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg, with the Rev. G. W. Eminhizer and I.O.O.F. in charge.
