Death of Mrs. Durbin.
On Wednesday Mrs. Catharine Durbin, relict of Augustine Durbin, died at her home at Munster, at the great age of ninety-two years. Her funeral took place on Friday morning, her remains being laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Loretto. Deceased was one of the best known and most esteemed women in Cambria County, and had a very wide circle of relatives and friends. Her maiden name was Scanlan, and she was a sister to Henry Scanlan, Esq., of Carrolltown. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Z. Endress, and Mrs. John Feltz, of Altoona, Mrs. Matthew Adams, of Summit, and Josephine, unmarried, at home. Two sons also survive her, Joseph and James Durbin. She had outlined most of those of her own generation and of her brothers and sisters, only two survive, Henry Scanlan, of Carrolltown, and Mrs. Daniel Gallagher, of San Francisco, California. |
