STIFFLER – Paul O., 93, Johnstown, formerly of South Fork, passed away Feb. 18, 2015, at home. Born Nov. 4, 1921, in South Fork, son of the late Ambrose and Sarah (Keller) Stiffler. Preceded in death by wife, Pearl L. (Brummert) Johncour-Stiffler, who died July 27, 2005; and former wife, Leatha (Schofield) Stiffler. Survived by children, Sandra L., wife of Kurt Leistner, Junction City, Kan.; and J. Paul Stiffler, and special friend, Cheri L. Ristau, who helped with his care, South Fork; stepchildren, D. Barry Johncour, married to Deanna Kay (Hedrick), Pittsburgh; and, Connie (Johncour), wife of Frank Nespoli, Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Paul was a 1939 graduate of Adams Township High School, Sidman. He worked for Civilian Conservation Corps, Fulton County, and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served in the European Theater during World War II. Member of the labor union; Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central; and retired from Conrail after 40 years in the rail industry. Member of Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork, and Free and Accepted Masons. Paul was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to his summer camp in Huntingdon County. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork. Viewing also will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, the Rev. Arlene Bobrowicz, officiating. Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
