SECOND EFFORT OF WOMAN TO SUICIDE WAS SUCCESSFUL
Mrs. John Peck, of Somerset County, Shot Herself After Brooding Over War
News has reached here of the suicide of Mrs. John Peck, in Middlecreek Township, who shot herself in the mouth after her first attempt to send a bullet through her heart produced only a superficial flesh wound.
Mrs. Peck was aged 31, was the mother of six children and with her husband and family resided on the farm formerly owned by John Uphouse. She became melancholy, brooding over the war and the part her relatives would likely be called upon to take in the overseas struggle to come.
She was Miss Elizabeth Pletcher before her marriage |
