1905, and from Lock Haven Normal School in 1912. Since that time Mr. Sullivan has attended four summer courses at Columbia University, one at New York University, and one at the University of Pittsburgh. He began his teaching career in Jones Township, Elk County, and was later principal of the schools of McEntire Township, Lycoming County, and principal of Ralston High School. He has served in his present position since 1914.
    In 1917 Mr. Sullivan was married to Miss Anna Holleran, a daughter of John and Margaret (Loftis) Holleran, natives of Pennsylvania. Mr. Holleran died in 1920 and his widow resides at Scranton. He was a mining engineer for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad mines. Mrs. Sullivan is a graduate of Lock Haven Normal School and before her marriage taught school at Scranton. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan have three daughters; Anna Mae, born March 5, 1918; Helen, born in August, 1919; and Betty Jean, born Aug. 21, 1923.
    Politically Mr. Sullivan is a Democrat. He is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus of Barnesboro.




    T. F. Dougherty, the efficient and well known cashier of the First National Bank at Spangler is a veteran of the World war. He was born at Ashville, in Cambria County, Oct. 10, 1892, and is the son of John and Mary (Conlogue) Dougherty.
    John Dougherty, who resides at Lilly, is a native of Cambria County. He was born at Ashville and began life as a farmer. He later worked at the blacksmith trade and as a woodworker. He is a Republican and has served as tax collector of Dean Township. He is a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. and Mrs. Dougherty are the parents of the following children: Dr. William S., a physician and surgeon of Portage, Pa., is a World war veteran, having served as a first lieutenant in the Medical Corps; Patrick J., lives at Lilly, is a World war veteran, having served in France for 13 months with the Three Hundred Fourteenth Machine Gun Battalion, Eightieth Division; May, married R. C. Moyer, lives at Lilly, where he is connected with the Hughes Coal Company; T. F., the subject of this sketch; Charles, lives at Lilly, where he is chief mechanic for the Shoemaker Coal Company; John J., died in June, 1921, was a World war veteran, having served in France for 18 months with the Motor Transport
