D. W. Hanna, well known meat dealer of Cresson, is a substantial citizen of Cambria County. He was born at Lilly, Pa., Feb. 7, 1895, and is the son of George W. and Azalia (Glunt) Hanna.
    George W. Hanna, deceased, was native of Pennsylvania. He was born at Lilly in 1871 and died 1909. His wife, who was born in Blair County, Pa., later married P.J. Hoover, and to that union two daughters were born, Irma and Auchey.
    D. W. Hanna spent his boyhood at Lilly and attended the public schools. He began work in the mines but after a short time entered the employ of W. H. Piper, meat dealer. He was later employed by M. K. Piper, also of Lilly, and later by J. L. Kingston, of Johnstown. He then formed a partnership with J. K. George at Lilly, after which he was associated in business with J. C. Gutwald. In 1923 Mr. Hanna came to Cresson and opened a meat shop. He has a well established trade and deals in high grade meats exclusively. He also handles dairy products.
    Mr. Hanna was married April 23, 1915, to Miss Ruth George, of Lilly, the daughter of Frank and Rachael George, who are members of pioneer families in Cambria County. Mr. and Mrs. Hanna have four children: Russell, David W., Jr., Meridith, and Ruth.
    In politics Mr. Hanna is identified with the Republican party. He is a member of the Lutheran Church and Knights of Pythias. Mr. Hanna is widely know in the community where he has spent his entire life.




    John Bertram Wagner is a well known and substantial citizen of Cresson where he is division accountant for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was born at Loretto, Pa., Sept. 20, 1882, and is the son of Francis F. and Agnes (Gill) Wagner.
    Francis F. Wagner was born at Chest Springs, Pa., Oct. 14, 1860, the son of John Wagner, pioneer lumberman of Cambria County. Francis F. Wagner also engaged in the lumber and milling business until the time of his retirement in 1920. He now resides in South Carolina. His wife was born in Cambria County and died in 1885, when J.B., the subject of this sketch, was but three years of age. Three other children had died in infancy.
    J. B. Wagner was reared and educated by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Gill. When he was 18 years of age he entered the
