1028 HISTORY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY

    Mr. Monteith was married in November, 1902, to Miss Stella Lansberry, who was born at Fairview, Clearfield County, a daughter of Alexander and Martha (Witten) Lansberry. Mr. Lansberry is deceased and is buried in Warsaw, Ind., and his wife, who is also deceased, is buried in Clearfield County. Mr. and Mrs. Monteith have the following children; John, born in 1908, employed at the Churchill School Company; Dorothy, married Edward Peace, lives at home; Jessie, a student in the Barnesboro High School; James D., a student in Barnesboro High School; Elisabeth, and Amy, both students in grade school at Emeigh; Jean, at home; and Stella Irene, born in March, 1924.
    Mr. Monteith is a Republican and a member of the Presbyterian Church. He belongs to the Red Men of Patton, the Masonic Lodge, Williamsport Consistory, Royal Arch Chapter and Council of Clearfield, Knights Templar of Philipsburg, Pa.; Jaffa Temple, Altoona, and the Merit Club of Barnesboro. Mr. Monteith takes a commendable interest in the public schools and is now serving his second term on the Emeigh School Board. He is a director of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Cherry Tree. The officers of the bank are: James Ake, president; Elbert Ake, vice president; and R. J. Protseller, Randall Dunlap, Charles Connor, Dr. Petterman, Dr. H. F. Garman, and A. B. Monteith, directors. Mr. Monteith is favorably known throughout Cambria County as a man of enterprise and ability.




    W. L. Hibbs, of Cresson, is one of Cambria County's most capable and prominent attorneys. He was born at Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pa., Feb. 9, 1882, and is the son of Henry P. and Anna Minerva (Boganreff) Hibbs.
    Both Henry P. Hibbs and his wife were born in Pennsylvania, where they have spent their entire lives. He was connected with the Pennsylvania Railroad until the time of his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Hibbs have four children; Charles, Addison Ray, Harry P., and W. L., the subject of this sketch.
    After completing his early schooling in the public schools, W. L. Hibbs engaged in railroad work for several years. He then resumed his school work and entered Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., from which he
