April 24, 1897, married James Lody, lives at Lilly; Richard, born Jan. 16, 1899 lives at Youngstown, Ohio; Della, born Feb. 27, 1901, married Robert Smith, lives at Central City, Pa.; James, born May 6, 1902, married Miss Margaret Mahan, lives at Nanty Glo; Clarence, born Aug. 19, 1904, married Miss Marian Gentles, lives at Emeigh; and Ruth, born March 16, 1906, at home. Dr. H. M. Stewart, who specialized in X-ray and radium only, with offices in the Ellis Building, Johnstown, is one of the most successful practitioners of his profession in the city. He was born at Frankstown, Blair County, Pa., Aug. 5, 1886, and is a son of A. B. and Ruth (Robinson) Stewart, both deceased. Mr. Stewart was a successful farmer of Blair County. H. M. Stewart was educated in the country schools and the Millersville State Normal School, and was graduated from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. Four years later he was graduated from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He served his interneship at the Germantown Hospital, Philadelphia, one year and then went to Altoona, Pa., where he practiced his profession for a short time. He then located at Ehrenfeld, Pa., engaged in general practice for seven years. He took postgraduate work in the Philadelphia Polyclinic, which was supplemented by post graduate work in Chicago, where he specialized in X-ray and radium work. He returned to Johnstown in 1913, since which time he has been actively engaged in practice. On June 10, 1914, Doctor Stewart was married to Miss Edna Bauers, and they have two children, Dick and Louise. The family home is in Westmont. Doctor Stewart is a Republican. He is a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Rotary Club, Sunnehanna Country Club, Greystone Hunt Club and the Masonic Clubs. Doctor Stewart is identified with the Cambria County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the American Radiological Society and the X-Ray Society of Central Pennsylvania. |
