1050 HISTORY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY

    On June 2, 1915, Doctor Peters was married to Miss Mina D. Siler, the daughter of Dr. O. A. and Alice (Poling) Siler. Doctor Siler is well known in Warren, Pa., where he has practiced osteopathy for 20 years. Doctor and Mrs. Peters have had three children: Muriel Ann, died in infancy, aged 17 months; Richard Carl, born May 30, 1920; and William Arthur, born March 11, 1925.
    Doctor Peters is identified with the Central Pennsylvania Dental society, Pennsylvania Dental Society, and American Dental Association, and the Psi Omega Fraternity. He is a Republican and has served as school director for six years. He holds membership in the Methodist Episcopal Church, Masonic Lodge of Patton and Williamsport Consistory.




    B. R. Lloyd. Among the more prominent and influential citizens of Cambria County is B. R. Lloyd, president of the First National Bank of Hastings, and secretary and treasurer of the Oak Ridge Coal and Coke Company, Inc. He was born at Houtzdale, Pa., Sept. 16, 1881, and is a son of Thomas and Bridget (Bannon) Lloyd.
    Thomas Lloyd, deceased, was a native of Ireland. At the age of 18 years he emigrated to this country and settled at Blossburg, Pa. He resided there for a period of about 20 years, removing to Houtzdale and later to Gallitzin, where he died in 1907. He was a member of the Catholic Church. His widow, also a native of Ireland, resides at Gallitzin. To Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd five children were born: Josephine, deceased; Mrs. J. L. Lyon, Pittsburgh; Mary and James, residing at Gallitzin; and B.R., the subject of this sketch.
    B. R. Lloyd was reared and educated at Gallitzin and for the past 25 years has been a resident of Hastings. When a young man he became associated with the Oak Ridge Coal and Coke Company, Inc., and since 1910 has served as secretary and treasurer. He is a director of the Cosgrove-Meehan Coal Corporation, Johnstown. Mr. Lloyd was elected president of the First National Bank of Hastings at the time of its organization in September, 1918. The other officers are Frank Finsthwait and John C. Cosgrove, vice presidents, and D. A. Westover, cashier.
    On Sept. 30, 1914, Mr. Lloyd was united in marriage to Miss Katharine McNelis, of Hastings, a daughter of James and Isabel (McKenzie) McNelis.
