B. F. Adams is a progressive and enterprising young business man of Johnstown, where he is proprietor of Adams Patent Medicine Store at 340 Corrine Street. He was born at Windber, Pa., July 21, 1900, and is the son of George H. and Kernie Ellen (Reed) Adams.
George H. Adams was born in Blair County, Pa., and his wife is a native of Indiana County. They have lived at Windber since 1898, where Mr. Adams is employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as an engineer. B.F., the subject of this sketch, is the only child.
B. F. Adams received his education in the public schools and in 1929 was graduated from Windber High School. The following year he was employed by the Burroughs Adding Machine Company at Detroit, Mich., after which he went to Pittsburgh with the H. J. Heinz Company for two years. Upon his return to Johnstown he worked in the Householder Drug Company store and in November, 1924, opened his present place of business. Mr. Adams has an attractive store and does an extensive business in patent medicines, sundries, cosmetics, magazines, ice cream and confectionery. He employs three people.
On June 22, 1924, Mr. Adams was married to Miss Laura J. Heeter, of Windber, Pa.
Mr. Adams is a Republican and a member of the United Brethren Church. He is held in high regard throughout the community where he is well known.
Rev. John Dekarski, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, South Fork, he is a veteran of the World War and a leading citizen of Cambria County. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., March 13, 1891, and is the son of Francis and Frances (Jankowska) Dekarski.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dekarski are residents of Brooklyn, N.Y., where he has been engaged in the undertaking business for the past 27 years. They are the parents of the following children: Francis; Mary; John, the subject of this sketch; Francis, and Victoria.
Rev. John Dekarski received his early education in the parochial schools of Brooklyn, attended St. John's College, Brooklyn, for four years, and was ordained to the priesthood at the Polish Seminary, Orchard Lake, Mich., June 17, 1916. He served as assistant pastor of St. Canisus Church, Johnstown, for two years and three months, and during the World War
